A small point possibly in support of this, when I was asked by the Labour canvasser if I would be voting for them in the election, my immediate, unthinking reaction was to avoid some sort of boring confrontation on a nice sunny evening when I was busy by saying 'I haven't decided yet' and then politely ended the conversation.

I wonder how many people have been doing that, not only on the doorsteps, but in surveys, too. Interesting? Maybe.Jon Lishmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07272058035800593800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278366793340877738.post-17260154184274142442010-05-02T21:51:35.016+01:002010-05-02T21:51:35.016+01:00I was canvassing in a council estate yesterday. One even said his dad would turn in his grave if he did anything different. But we also found a large number of people intending to vote Tory, including one who said he'd always voted Labour but was voting Tory this time because Labour are "rubbish". We also found some defectors from Labour to Lib Dem. And everybody including the Labour voters was pleased to see us.

It feels to me as if the polls are (again) underestimating Tory support. I'm sticking with my forecast of 42% for the Tory vote.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8278366793340877738.post-8286877526499360722010-05-01T22:10:25.552+01:002010-05-01T22:10:25.552+01:00Thanks John.
