RIP Ray Allen - And Lord Charles

Widely regarded as the best ever ventriloquist - and the funniest - Ray Allen passed away yesterday at the age of 79. Part of my childhood sadly gone, but not forgotten. Gottle o' geer!

  1. Ray Allan was part of the fabric of my childhood too. At least he seems to have gone quickly. I wonder if Lord Charles knows?

  2. Alright, now you're making me feel old as I remember him too. A shame we don't really see many ventriloquists on the TV any more, between Ray and Lord Charles, Roger De Coursey and Nookie Bear and Keith Harris and Orville (And Cuddles!) there seemed to be loads of them when I was younger.

  3. Lol. Speaking of feeling old, I've had terrible toothache over the past few days which has made work a living hell. Been surviving on a pushmepullyou cocktail of cocodamol and coffee. Someone reminded me that when horses' teeth wear out, it usually means they're only good for the knacker's yard. Well, I'm not quite ready to be turned into a bottle of Bostik quite yet, so I'll just opt for that dental appointment I've been dreading. Perhaps I should take up ventriloquism so I don't have to open my mouth any more (it hurts).
